June 2008 - New Howl Book
OMG YOU GUYS!!!!!
Somehow, I’ve missed any notice that there is a sequel to Howl’s Moving Castle coming out this summer! And I just got an ARC in the mail. Darn it, I’m in the middle of reading Twice Upon a Marigold, but as soon as its done, I’ll be on to this.
The book is House of Many Ways by Diana Wynne Jones. I loved Howl’s and I liked Castle in the Air all right, though it didn’t have enough Sophie and Howl. Flipping through this book, I did noticed Sophie and Calcifer’s names at least, and so hopefully that means more of them. I can’t decided now if I want to read the other two first or not. I probably should its been a few years.
Anyways, I’ll be just over here squealing for a while now.
Oh, and I also go the books The Writing on the Wall by Wendy Lichtman and The Running Man by Michael Gerard Bauer. Unfortunately neither of them are fantasy books, so I probably won’t end up reviewing them. If anyone is interested in reviewing them for their own sites, let me know and I’ll pass them along.
A bit ago I got The Diary of Pelly D which is a dystopian story by L. J. Adlington, as well as its sequel Cherry Heaven and then Evernight by Claudia Gray. Both are YA Fantasy books, so I’m going to add them to my reading pile, since they both look pretty interesting.
You’re so lucky! I’ve been wanting to read this new Howl book since I first heard about it. Apparently there’s a sort of Author’s Note at the beginning that outlines the basic plot - somebody (who also received an ARC) posted it up on the DWJ livejournal community, and from it I gather that Howl and Sophie will have a bigger part.
I liked Castle in the Air, but I was slightly disappointed by the sad lack of main characters from Howl’s Moving Castle; so I’ll be very happy if they’re back this time! I hope you review it when you’re done.

Yeah, thats about how I feel about Castle in the Air. It was enjoyable, but I was expecting more of Howl and Sophie, and I’m not sure I liked how they were characterized in it.
I will absolutly review it the second I am done reading it! Though I’m thinking I want to reread the other two books first. Just so that I get every naunce of the book.
The intro summary does sound like they play a decent part and I hope its true.
